With 2013 now in full swing and all my New Year’s aspirations already down the drain, I thought we can look ahead into the unknown that is the year 2013. All the hype has been made to 2012 we tend to forget that there was another year lurking in the background and ready to pounce, so as we gave 2012 the finger and moved the title DVD to the comedy section. 2013 is the year of the snake, here are some things that you can look forward to or not.
Fuck off, 2
I love movies, I haven’t been to a cinema in ages, although the DVD guy knows me by name but this year I will be making a point on enjoying some cinematic adventures with over salted popcorn and flat Coke. Movies to look out for are Thor: The Dark World, Iron Man 3 The Fast and the Furious 6, Despicable Me 2, Grown Ups 2, Elysium and The Hangover Part 3. Thank fuck that irritating Twilight series thing is done, but we can all take a moment and shed a tear for the ending of the Harry Potter franchise though.
The gaming world will be rocked and moved this year with the announcement of probably the biggest consoles in the known universe rumoured to be releasing their respective new models, PS and XBOX geeks will fight it out to gain the bragging rights of the best “one”. With that said I introduce to you the PS4 and XBOX 720.
I have been very slack with the gaming world and didn’t purchase or acquire any new games in 2012, I basically just played all my old favourites till the point where I am “gatvol” of them. But this year there are a few that will be tickling my fancy and already has my mouth-watering, they are Grand Theft Auto V, Battlefield 4, Wasteland 2, Dead Space 3, God of War: Ascension and Injustice: Gods among us, to keep an eye on.
Moving abroad and into space we look to the skies and will be welcoming C/2012 S1 (ISON), if you don’t know what the fuck I just said. There is a friendly sungrazing comet that will be coming near earth at the end of 2013 and will briefly become brighter than the moon – fuck 2012!
Ermehgerd its coming
Now we turn our attention to probably the most important baby ever to be born in 2013, and no I am not talking about Kim goddamn Kardashian, I am talking about the royal baby growing in the uber hot Kate Middleton (Duchess of Cambridge). The little tyke is expected to see the world in July 2013. If their wedding was anything to go by, the birth will be closely monitored by millions.
Babes, yes they gave us eye candy last year and I doubt if they will ever not entertain us with their luscious lips, exquisite bodies and of course, those bums and boobs. Gawd we can dream can’t we? Ladies that made their mark last year and will definitely this year include: Jade Fairbrother, Irene Nell, Yolandi Malherbe, Kate Upton and Lucy Pinder. Let’s all thank them for being so beautiful and flaunting it.
There is something brewing in the music industry and I like it, a few monumental bands that are releasing new material or rumored to be are: Motley Crue, American Hi-Fi, Biffy Clyro, Coheed & Cambria, Bullet for my Valentine, Paramore, AC/DC, The Black Keys and probably the least likely Nirvana.

Back in sunny South Africa we look at some awesome things that are happening and will keep us entertained: my favourite festival of all time happening in August, Oppikoppi 2013, Ramfest, the ICC Cricket Test matches from our boys The Proteas, waking up and doing nothing but drink and watch the Super 15 (Go South Africa), hopefully more big things happening here at Why Ed?, drunken weekends and meeting new people along the way to make this as memorable as last year. So to new beginnings and an eventful 2013.
See you at the bar
Ed
